Currently Seat 2 of the Yale City Commission is vacant. If you are interested in filling this seat for the remainder of the term, through May 2028, you can pick up an application for review at either Yale City Hall or the Yale Public Library between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. Qualifications for the seat are that you must be a registered voter and currently live inside the city limits of Yale and have resided here for a minimum of one year. Board meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm. Special meetings are held as needed. Yale City Commissioners also serve on the Yale Water and Sewage Trust Authority Board as well as the Yale Economic Development Authority Board. Applications should be turned into the City Clerk’s Office at 209 N. Main Street or by email at dcouch@yaleok.org no later than 4:30pm on August 31, 2026.

We have our Plastic Bag Crocheting Class at 10 a.m., and then at 1:00 p.m. Genesis Home Health will be visiting the center with some deliciously cool Ice Cream Sundaes!

We start the week with an Exercise class, then Bingo, don't forget Dominoes, and we finish the week with a double event on Friday: Plastic Crocheting Bag Class and Sundaes!!

We had Elvis in the building today!! He joined 29 people to Bingo at the Yale Senior & Community Center. That is our largest turn out to date! We had to recognize it with a picture! Thank you to Christina from Walker for letting him tag along.
We had another record number of visitors to the center today! Forty (40) people visited the center today, to play Bingo or Dominoes or to just stop and talk. Our parking lot was hopping!
Don't forget tomorrow Genesis Home Health will be at the Center to do wellness screenings, and next Tuesday we have another Bingo event!!!
Screenings include: Blood Pressure, Weight and Oxygen Saturation.

On day 1, the class learned the differences between store bought and homemade bread; the importance of using the right ingredients; and the benefits of using a bread machine. On day 2, the class got to sample different types of bread, while also making some of their own.
