Republic has notified us due to mechanical issues, there will a 4-hour service delay. This will affect rural customers on the West side of town. Please leave your carts out, they should all be serviced by the end of the day.

Beginning Monday, June 15, 2026, our City Hall and Municipal Court offices will be relocated back to the city hall building at 209 N. Main Street. This is just one door South of the library. City Hall office hours will be M-F 8am-4:30pm, closing from 12pm-1pm for lunch.

We are very excited to be back in our space and can’t wait for everyone to see the new area, as well as the Senior Center. Make sure to stop by the Senior Center at 111 N. “B” Street this Friday from 3pm-7pm for the grand opening.

Crews are working on a waterline repair. Water will be shut off at 9am, this will affect East Chicago across from the Jim Thorpe Park as well as customers on Underwood Road. During this time you may experience low to no water pressure. We will send updates as we have them. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

Just a reminder that Republic will be open and running routes on Monday, May 25th, Memorial Day.

All routes (residential and commercial) will run as normal with no delays.

Crews will be disconnecting the power in the area of B street and Broadway to replace a line. We will update as we have more information.

Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) will stop accepting Energy Crisis Assistance Program (ECAP) applications at midnight Friday, May 22, 2026.
Households can apply online at www.okdhslive.org until 12:00:00 A.M. CST Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Households that applied during open enrollment can turn in verification:
• online at OKDHSLIVE.org and click on Fast Pass Verification Upload button so it can be indexed to the case record,
• at any local OKDHS field office.

The next anticipated open enrollment for Summer Cooling FFY2026 will be Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
Please be aware that several factors can cause delays in open enrollment. The summer program will remain open until funds are expended.

UPDATE: Repairs have been completed and power has been restored. If you are still without electricity, please call the police department at 918-387-2403.

Utility crews will be cutting off power to the East side of town in order to make repairs. Repairs should take no more than 2 hours. Updates will posted as available. We apologize for this inconvenience, but appreciate everyone's understanding.

The scheduled electric upgrade and repairs for this morning have been completed. If you are without power, please call city hall at 918-387-2405. Thank you for your patience.

There will be a scheduled power outage Monday, April 27th beginning at 9am. This will affect South side of the 800 block of East Erie and the North side of the 800 block of East Detroit. The apartments on East Erie will not be affected. Repairs should be completed by noon.

Oklahoma Human Services will begin accepting online applications on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, for the Energy Crisis Assistance Program (ECAP) at OKDHSLive.org.

ECAP Crisis Criteria, verification required:
• Households which have an active cut-off notice for the utility on the day of application
• Written notice from their utility provider for new service establishment or service restoration with minimum requirement security deposit, carryover debt or other fees
• Written notice from their utility provider refusing to deliver additional fuel without a minimum required payment, and the fuel tank is below 10%
• A pre-paid account with less than $25 balance in the account
• Verification from the utility provider that the household entered into a payment plan to prevent service cut off
Households should apply online at OKDHSLive.org.

Households with a member who is Native American may apply through OKDHSLive.org or through their tribal nation. Households cannot receive assistance for the same program component from both Oklahoma Human Services and their tribe during the same federal fiscal year.

Calling all quillers - beginners, experienced or somewhere in between. Come join us Friday, April 24th from 2-3pm as we turn simple-looking paper strips into beautiful art by paper quilling.

We are aware of the fire in Cushing, we have sent mutual aid. Residents do need to stay aware and be ready to take evacuation measures if needed.
