Republic has just now notified us that trash will not be serviced tomorrow. Services for Thursday and Friday of this week will be delayed by one day. We do apologize for this late notice and any inconvenience this may have caused.

Republic has asked us to remind all polycart customers that carts need to be placed at the curb on collection day. Carts need to be a minimum of 5 feet apart with clear access to the cart. The lid also needs to be able to completely shut with no excess waste protruding. Also, per City Code, please remember that all containers, whether alley collection or curbside collection, shall be placed in the proper location for collection not more than twelve (12) hours prior to the day of collection and shall be moved off of the right of way or alley boundary before the end of the day of collection.

The Library and City Hall will be closed Thursday, January 1, 2026 to observe the New Year. We wish everyone a fun and safe holiday!

City Hall offices and the Library will be closed December 24th - December 26th for the Christmas holiday. We will resume normal business hours on Monday, December 29th.

Doorknockers for delinquent utility accounts will be posted on Friday, January 2, 2026 with cutoffs starting Monday, January 5, 2026.

Oklahoma Human Services will begin accepting online applications, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, for the low income home energy assistance program (LIHEAP). This federally funded program helps income-eligible families with their winter heating utility bills. You can apply or find more information regarding the LIHEAP program at OKDHSLive.org.

The Payne County Treasurer's office will be in the library on Friday, December 12th from 1pm-4pm to accept county tax payments.

Electric repairs have been completed, all power should now be restored. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Crews will be disconnecting power beginning in the 300 block of North C Street East to the 100 block of North H Street. Downtime should be less than an hour, we appreciate everyone's understanding and do apologize for the inconvenience.

Crews are still working on the water leak, the Department of Transportation is assisting with repairs and is bringing in larger equipment to be able to cut through a small section of the highway. We apologize for this inconvenience but do appreciate everyone's understanding during this time.

OMPA has notified us that OG&E has made repairs to their substation. Full power should now be restored, if you are without power or still have partial power, please call the Police Department at 918-387-2403.

We are still looking to gauge interest from the public regarding holding seats on an advisory board for the senior center. This board would oversee the management of the center but not be directly involved with the day to day operations.
